I left school when I turned 15 because I was better at sports than school work and the real reason was because I was in fear of getting beaten up by the bullies because of my size. I was second smallest kid in the class and had always stood up for myself which sometimes had repercussions.
One day I left school abruptly for self-preservation reasons (in fear for my life) and never went back.
Way back then at 15 I knew why I wanted money and what I was going to do with it? I was out looking at vacant land to buy to set me up for the future. This was a while ago when land was affordable and I could have easily bought it with my savings from my full time job, 2-part time jobs and some help from the bank at the time.
I knew having money meant having choices and choices for me meant having FREEDOM.
Even at 15 I had an idea of what passive income was and the vacant land I was looking at was the start of it all.
However, I was very naïve in other ways and with the other guys at work always talking about girls, I quickly changed my mind and wanted to save for a car instead. So my dream went from buying an investment to buying a car so I could chase girls instead.
Just over one year later I purchased a brand new car which still gave me freedom of a different sort.
My dream of financial freedom never waned and I was always looking, always working and always trying new ways to find it.
I realise a few years ago that my ladder had been leaning up against the wrong wall my whole life.
My family was not getting ahead financially and in fact was falling further and further behind. Life was not enjoyable. I was still doing what I had always done for the past 38 years and it wasn’t working.
And, it was not for lack of trying or laziness.
"It's crazy When You Think About It"
In today’s modern world, over one third of adults are not happy with their current lifestyle and have the feeling of being trapped.
The sad fact is that most people don't ever actively chase solutions... they just keep running the same old treadmill over and over again not know what else to do.
The definition of insanity – Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
The thing that holds us back is the fear of failure, and this fear is often greater than the desire to go out on a limb to make change happen.
Most everything we’ve been taught at school about money is wrong!
If what school taught was right, we wouldn’t have the level of dissatisfaction we do and we would be living our dream lifestyle by now.
We have all been lied to and lost years, even decades off our lives following a broken education system.
School, parents and the media all taught us to trade time for money.
We have been brainwashed into think that money is created by getting a “JOB” and the concept of becoming an employee is born.
Back in the 40’s and 50’s if you ran out of money, you had to wait until your next pay check came along before you could buy again.
Along came the credit card and presto, you could now spend money before you earned it. All for a fee of course which soon became acceptable and the norm.
Then if you hit your card limit, just go and get another one and we all nowhere that leads to, don’t we?
The system is broken!
The good news is you don’t have to give up your day job to start something different.
What wall is your ladder leaning up against?
Is it time to do something different?
Stay tuned for more solutions.
